File type: Symbian Installation File
The SIS file extension is used for the installer archive of devices using the Symbian OS. Examples of such are PDAs, Ericsson, Samsung, Siemens, Panasonic, LG, Sendo, Lenovo, Arima, FOMA, BenQ, Motorola, and Nokia phones. This installer archive is created using the 'makesis' command line tool of Symbian. This tool is included in the CreateSIS application. To installs the files using the SIS file extension, the user needs to transfer the files to the phone using the PC communication software of the phone. The SIS files will then be opened on the phone to execute the installer.
